Drawing from the work of Steve Biko and the Black Consciousness Movement, this course is equipping community and church practitioners to discover and practice their own agency and that of their communities in making change through nurturing an alternative consciousness.
This course introduces aspects related to the identity of the minister; the church as body, institution and movement; kingdom and community; and the witness of the church as servants.
To provide a basic introduction to reading the Old and New Testament theologically and in the contexts in which we serve.
This course trains church leaders to build up and equip their local churches – in line with the Scriptures and in response to the needs of the contemporary society. The course develops skills to build a missionary local church/congregation that will make a difference (bring help and hope) in local communities.
Preaching is one of the most important but also most challenging ministries in the Church. The purpose of this course is to equip pastors and lay ministers to communicate more effectively when preaching the Gospel in the South African or African context, with an emphasis on the kingdom of God on earth.
Ministering to children and young people in the South and Southern African societies is a real challenge. The course trains and motivates pastors and other youth leaders to provide an effective ministry to children, teenagers and young adults within the South and Southern African context.
